April 4, 2010
Dear Preschool Families,
We are drawing near the end of the preschool year. Our days are literally numbered. Our preschool calendar is busy with activity. Below are some special dates you will want to mark on your calendar.
April 5-9: Scholastic Book Fair in Gym Lobby.
April 9: Grandparents Day - Visitors are welcome to stop in for a visit, there are no special events planned. This will be a regular school day for us.
Monday, May 10: Fun Day in the Park - Parents are welcome to spend part or all of the class time with us. We will eat our lunch in the park at 11 a.m. Please remember to pack a sack lunch for your child that day. In case of rain, we will have our fun day in our classroom and enjoy a picnic on the floor.
Tuesday, May 11: Summer Birthday Celebration Day - This will be the day we will celebrate anyone with a summer birthday. Parents are welcome to put your ideas together and join forces to make this a special birthday celebration.
Wednesday, May 12: Graduation - This will be our last day of school and we will have a graduation for those who plan to go a head to kindergarten.
Even though our days are numbered we will continue to be quite busy in our classroom. We will be finishing up the alphabet, (we are on the letter “V” now), wrapping up colors, and doing some review of shapes and numbers.
Soon, our focus will be a garden center, complete with seeds, pots, flowers, watering cans, hats (it gets so hot working out in the garden in the sun), and gardening tools. This has proven to be a very popular center with the students.
Later this month, we will have a theme on dinosaurs. T-Rex has an X in his name and dinosaurs are e-X-tinct. During this time, if you walk past our door and hear a lot of growling and screeches...it's probably just the dinosaurs.
Thank you to all of the parents helpers that "hopped" all around the park and made our Easter Egg Hunt happen. Thank you to everyone for sending stuffed eggs and supplied special items for our party. It was a hit.
Please remember the weather is changing and because of that we are able to spend some time outside. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothes for Spring.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore
