Mrs. Nancy Kunkel - Part-time Counselor

Mrs. Kunkel attended elementary school at St. Peter School and high school at QND.
After graduation she enrolled in Quincy University and earned a B.S. in Education.  After earning her degree she enrolled in Northeast Missouri and earned her Master of Science Degree in Counseling and
Guidance.
She is married to Art, who is a realtor.  They have one daughter, Kristin Frohn, who lives in
Beverly Hills, MI.  Kristin has four children and works part-time for Borders in real estate
development for Walden Books.  Mrs. Kunkel's four grandchildren are Kaitlin, Kendall, Keaton, and
Kelsey Jane.  Kaitlin is eight, Kendall and Keaton are twins and are six and Kelsey Jane is four.
She has two pet dogs, Bob and Lucky.  Bob is from the Humane Society.  Mrs. Kunkel and her
husband found Lucky on the way to North Carolina.
Mrs. Kunkel's favorite colors are yellow and navy blue and her favorite food is chicken.  Her
favorite movie is The Sound of Music.  Her favorite sport is basketball. Mrs. Kunkel enjoys reading
and James Stewart is her favorite author.  He is also one her former students!  Her favorite
music is Broadway show tunes, so it's no surprise she enjoys attending Broadway Musicals.  Mrs.
Kunkel also likes to play bridge and her favorite vacation spot is Marco Island, Florida.
Mrs. Kunkel's favorite memory is of the day that her daughter Kristin was born.  She feels her
greatest accomplishment was being a junior high counselor for forty years.  She is proud that
she was able to do this and still be a wife, mother, and grandmother to a great family.  Her hero
is her husband.  She was diagnosed eighteen years ago with Multiple Sclerosis and he has been
there for her and given her tremendous support.  She also enjoys working with her physical
therapist to overcome the problems this disease causes.  Her physical therapy really helps keeping
her going.  She loves counseling here at St. Peter.
