Third
Grade
Meet Jill Duesterhaus!
Ms. Duesterhaus will begin her teaching
career with us this year. We are very excited to welcome her to our
St. Peter School family.
She is so excited to begin her teaching career in 3rd
grade and to also be at St. Peter School. She feels very lucky and
privileged!
Jill attended Catholic schools from kindergarten all the way
through high school. For grades kindergarten through 8th
grade she attended St. John’s Catholic School which eventually became All
Saints Catholic School. Following grade school she attended Quincy
Notre Dame High School where she was active in softball and volleyball.
After graduating from Notre Dame, she attended John Wood Community College
for one year and then transferred to Western Illinois University for the
next three years. Ms. Duesterhaus graduated in December of 2009 with a
degree in Elementary Education and is endorsed in both Language Arts and Social
Studies.
Since being in high school, she has worked in positions that have dealt
with children year around. While in high school she worked for the
Quincy Park District doing their Summer Playground at Madison Park.
While in college and being home for the summers, she has been employed at
the Blessing Hospital Child Care Center. After graduating from Western
in December, Jill was given the opportunity to fill in at Payson Seymour
Elementary School in a special education classroom while the teacher was on
a maternity leave. This was a great experience that enabled her to
learn an educator.
Currently Ms. Duesterhaus is dating Josh Venvertloh. He works
at Wiemelt Plumbing and Excavating. They have known each other their
whole lives.
Jill
has 2 Golden Retriever dogs named Bubba and Bell. They
are always up to no good but they sure do love to play with each other.
Jill's favorite food would be any kind of fresh fruit and vegetables.
She is a huge fan of pasta or Chinese.
Her
favorite hobbies are trying new recipes to cook, taking pictures, seeing my
friends, and she love's laughing and having a good time.
